March 2010: It's not a wonder we call it Mad March here in Adelaide, there is so much going on on!! The Festival, The Fringe, The Clipsal 500, man, it's been crazy. But to our surprise people were still out and about at most of our gigs. The Avoca, The Brompton, The Espy all went off as always, great to see Kate, Aaron and Matty among the punters. A Big thankyou to Angela and Michael for inviting us to play at their wedding reception down in the beautiful McLaren Vale. What a special couple and excellent group of friends, we felt so welcomed and we really had a terrific time. Looking forward to another couple of weddings in April too. come on out and see us in the meantime, check our gig guide for all up and coming gigs.
Kerrie and Craig.
November 2009: It's nearly the end of another year. Christmas is just around the corner and people just keep getting married!! We had a terrific time with Kirsten and Michael who came all the way over from Tasmania for their big day at Annie's Lane Winery in Watervale. The weather was perfect and it was a terrific setting. We also ventured down to Victor for Deanna and Nathan's reception. Apart from the rain it was also a wonderful day. Great to see Narrelle and Rob amongst the guests too. Great gigs at The Espy and The Avoca amongst others and that was November.
September 2009: It was a month of weddings and pub gigs... no surprises there. Great to be a part of The Blessing of The Fleet Ball in Pirie. Big thanks to Anthony and Dot for all your hard work. Wonder if a bit of that blessing rubbed off onto Remedy!!! Another country trip up to renmark saw us at Rachel and Blake's wedding. Perfect couple, brilliant location, even the motel had a comfy bed.... important to get plenty of sleep when you're on the road!! Add to that a handful of gigs at The Avoca, Cascades and The Espy and it was the end of the month again. August 2009: After a bit of a juggle with old gigs falling over and new ones popping up August had a little bit of everything. Craig and Abi's wedding at The Grand was a highlight, what a great night. Big thanks to a terrific couple, everything went without a hitch, hope you've had a great honeymoon, hope to catch you again sometime soon. We had another cracking night for the truly wonderful TCT group raising much needed funds for a new Ronald McDonald House. Big thanks to Jenny and Lisa and Russell for organising such a terrific night. We even were privileged to witness the very popular Adelaidian Chef Peter Jarmer showing us how to knock up an authentic Austrian Apple Strudel.... boy this dude knows what he's doing!! It tasted every bit as good as it looked. Great to be a part of this excellent fundraiser!! Winter is now officially over so no more excuses about staying in, switch off the plasma, get off facebook and come out. Friday nights at The Avoca and Espy are definitely worth a look!! July 2009: Well July saw the coming and going of another handful of special occasions, starting with young Howard Norman's birthday extravaganza at The Red Ochre Restuarant. Now we all know it's usually the MC/best mate's job to make a speech and perhaps give the host a good old fashioned roasting, and he did, but that was quickly overshadowed by perhaps the worst/funniest Marilyn Monroe wannabe in the history of entertainment. Not sure what planet she was on but let's just say she certainly wasn't with us. Mmm... don't give up ya day job just yet!!! Even so it really was an excellent night, thanks again to Howard and his family, good people!! The next night we had the very great pleasure to play for our friends Lynn and Greg and their family for Lynn's birthday celebrations. What a fabulous group, the place was absolutely pumping, by the end we were all pretty buggered! Good food good people, All good!!! Chuck in gigs at The Ark, The Espy, The TTG Golf Club and Cascades and that was July!! Oh and a last minute extra, happy birthday CJ, bring on the belly dancer!! June 2009: June was very quiet for us with only a few gigs, but what great gigs they were. Good to be back at Cascades, great to see Matty, Tara and Deb and The Brompton and The Avoca were as always fun gigs. Met some more very fine peoples including Caroline and Michael. Highlight of the month must go to Cathy and Locky. We hit the road and travelled over to Kangaroo Island for their Big Day. The ferry trip over was a bit rougher than Kerrie had hoped but we managed to get there in time and in good shape!! Stokes Bay is a beautiful part of the world and the view from The Stokes Bay Bar and Grill was as good as it gets. Good people and great food made for a terrific night. Big thanks again for asking us over!! Looking forward to a couple of Birthday parties this coming month and another handful of pub gigs. C'mon, brave the cold and join us at one of our gigs this month!! May 2009: May was very quiet as Adelaidians started their social hibernation. Venues are feeling the pinch as the winter chill sets in, but we pushed on regardless. The Wharf and The Avoca were great gigs, Arkaba went off and The Brompton saw a good crowd of Remedy Faithfuls. It might be quiet out there but we're not exactly sitting idle either, there is something very cool in the wind, something in the Remedy camp that will be making a huge statement.....all will be revealed soon!!
Appologies Matty and to anyone else who may have driven to The Espy or Tapp Inn gigs last week, we only found out they were cancelled that weekend and didn't have time to post it online.... we'll make it up to you!!
April 2009: April signalled the end of the "Wedding Season" but not before we travelled to Pt. Pirie, Macclesfield and The Monarto Zoo, 3 of the best receptions we've been at all year. All very different but very lovely. Big thanks to Joby and Naomi, Damien and Kristy, Ben and Casey. Our usual gigs at The Wharf, The Avoca went really well and our gig at The Ark got blown out. Sorry to anyone who headed out that night to see us. Looking forward to another busy month. Don't let the cold weather scare you off, click off facebook and come out and see us face to face!!
March 2009: Well March was always going to be the most enjoyable month on the Remedy calendar. For starters we enjoyed a well earned break, no gigs for 4 weeks. We also managed to slip in a Hens night, a Bucks night, a Wedding and a Honeymoon on the Gold Coast... yep, on the 8th we went and became Mr. and Mrs. James. After playing at dozens and dozens of other peoples weddings it was time for our own. A HUGE thanks to everyone who attended and for all your best wishes! Great to see all the interstaters including Maxi and Mirium. Big thanks to Daren (DaFish) for all the beats, Karen and Wayne for the excellent photography, Dad for the ceremony, Kate and Mark for everything else and the best behaved kids in the whole world, Sam, Brad and Corey. Cheers guys!!
The honeymoon euphoria was short lived though and by the 27th we were back rockin out at The Ark. It was a bit of a jolt back into reality but hey it was all good. Followed the next day with an excellent wedding for Joel and Misty at The Oaks Plaza. What a wild crowd. Great to catch up with Jaya too! And to top it all off the Crows smashed The Pies!!
February 2009: Well Feb has come and gone and we've been flat out with more weddings and pub gigs. Half way through the month we headed up to Pt. Pirie for Amy and Leighs big day, great to see a few familiar faces, we're becoming a bit of a regular in Pirie. Followed up the very next week with a wonderful cocktail reception for Hayley and Ben at The Stamford Grand. Really big night with some of the guests toward the end of the night with their feet in the air... i think they thought they were "dancing on the ceiling"....very entertaining. Cheers!! All the usual regular gigs at The Ark, The Wharf, The Avoca, The Brompton all went really well. Great to see many of you out and about. There is also a bit of movement in the Remedy corner, sitting on some very exciting news, all will be revealled soon..... watch this space!!
January 2009: January was a busy month in more than one way. Playing wise we played 3 weddings and a 60th, a dozen gigs around town and our regular Thursdays at The Goody were greeted with many happy punters. Highlights included an excellent evening at Dan and Laurens wedding celebration at McLarens On The Lake. Great to see all the crew from The Rat and a special mention of the Grooms efforts to sing a ripping version of Chasing cars to his lovely bride. Even the band got misty, well the female part thereof!! We also had a huge night at Claire and Andrews big day/night at Peter Lehmanns in the Barossa. Andrew also got on the mic and bellowed his way through half the night!! Some very exhausting looking dance moves from Deano and a two foot lizard ( yep, a real one) sitting in the corner of the cellar all night waiting for us to finish made for a revelry like no other.
December 2008: Christmas has come and gone once again and we just want to say another great big thankyou to everyone who has had anything to do with Remedy in 2008. We have played so many great gigs, too many to even try and remember. A huge thank you to our families who have continued to support what we do and help us out with all sorts of stuff. xxx. December has been very busy with several weddings and corporate gigs along with the usual pub regulars. We had an excellent time at Cathy and Ian's wedding early in the month. One of the best weddings we have ever been apart of, a beautiful couple and wonderful guests. The Food at Citi Zen was something of a treat also. The last weekend of the month saw us at Bungaree Station out of Clare for Jo and Deb's big day, and believe me it was a big day. Looking forward to another big year kicking off with a New Years celebration at The Stamford Plaza, Cascades Cocktail Lounge starting at 9pm. Thanks again to everyone who has supported live music, we have continued to do what we love and we are so grateful. Merry Christmas and have a safe a prosperous New Year.
