April 2011: Busy month for us kicking things off with a laid back gig at The Rezz. Big thanks again to Rana and Richard and all the staff, love this gig. The following night we had a terrific time at the opening of a new business here in Adelaide. The Maratimo Group have expanded their multi million dollar luxury boating company to a terrific premises in North Haven. Opening night was huge to say the least, with a Casino Royal theme guests entered via a red carpet adorned with Sports cars, Models with million dollar jewels, lavish boats and all we had to do was rock the house! Great night!! Thanks again Mary Ash and co! Another huge night at The Lakes, post Showdown, with many Power fans revelling in an all too familiar outcome! Great gigs at The Kentish, The Grand, The Espy, The Robinhood and The British rounded things off. March 2011: Busy month of weddings and birthdays. Kicked things off with Danny and Thuy's big day, it was absolutely fantastic. It started out as a masquerade party for their engagement but guests were soon treated to something quite unexpected when Thuy appeared in white!! Great night! The following week we ventured north to Clare to play at Michelle and Craig's big day out at Bungaree Station. Another huge country wedding with plenty of good old country hospitality. Then it was off to The Morphetville racecourse for a huge combined birthday for Nick and Jim's parents. What a terrific evening, great to see a few familiar faces too!! Gigs at The Avoca, the Espy, The Robinhood and Tea Tree Gully Golf Club all went really well too!! February 2011: The end of another very exciting month. Corporate gigs included Wendy and Peter's wedding at Uleybury Winery. Lovely setting, terrific couple, great food and wine, thanks goes to all the staff at Uleybury Winery. A trip up to Clare for Kirsty and Cam's wedding was a big weekend. They had set up at The Clare Racetrack in a massive marquee. The night was a huge success with the highlights including a beautiful Bridal Waltz and huge party. The following week we were up at Hahndorf for Beck and Pat's combined 40th birthday celebration. Even the rain which seemed threatening at times couldn't detract from what was a terrific evening, thanks again Beck and Pat for having us, we had a ball. Pub gigs at The Bombay, The Hilton, The RobinHood and The Avoca were all huge as always!! January 2011: Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all. Thank you once again for supporting live music, it's really appreciated!! Well 2011 was greeted by a very cool gig at The British, many thanks to Sandy and crew for all their hard work!! Ayleesha and Reegans big day down at McLarens on the Lake was a tremendous occasion, these country folk know how to party!! What a terrific reception with an equally terrific group of guests! Many thanks for asking us to play, we had a ball!! Next it was Sharon and Darryls combined 50th birthday celebrations, or as everyone was calling it "Shazza and Dazza's 100th!" Wow, what a huge night, reckon there might have been more than a few sore heads the next day. This was the type of gig people will talk about for many years to come, it had everything. A massive crowd, heaps of drinking, heaps of characters, loads of carry on, a really cool house, and even cooler pool... and terrific hosts!! A huge thanks to Sharon and Darryl for an amazing evening, Cheers!! Gigs at The Espy, The Grand Bar, Bombay and Hampstead all went really well too... Big thanks to Heidi for helping out at The Hampstead.... that girl can sing!!! December 2010: Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all. Thank you once again for supporting live music, it's really appreciated! Gigs this month were crazy as most people were out celebrating Christmas, with work shows dominating. Highlights include the wedding reception of Liz and Adam at The Grand. Terrific night with a big thanks going out to Sharen for not only her admistrative skills but her wonderful support. Yes and to her husband for proving once again you're never too old to take your shirt off on the dancefloor!! Wild stuff. Gigs at The Espy, Bombay, Avoca and new comer The Rezz all went really well, looking forward to getting back in there in 2011. See ya out there soon!! November 2010: This was relatively quiet for Remedy. Stand out gigs were at The Espy, the Avoca and Bombay.. great to see Di and Michael among the crowd. Highlight at the end of the month at The RobinHood. Great to see Kate and the girls out in force, big hi to Kane, Adele and friends too for getting into it! Finally got into The British and rocked the house! So good to see Sandy again too... big thanks! October 2010: This was a busy month full of old gigs, new gigs, and road trips. Great to get back into The Avoca, The Bombay, The Espy, The TTG Golf Club and The Robin Hood. Roadtrip was to Renmark for Prue and Chris's Wedding. Beautiful day, terrific people and some pretty tired guests by the end of it. Never seen so many dudes happy to drop their daks to the tune of Eagle Rock... absolute ripper!!! Halloween was celebrated in style at The Old Spot in Gawler. Great to see Kate, Aaron and crew. Big congratulations to everyone who dressed up and a huge congrats to Danny and Thuy on the announcement of their engagement!! Big thanks to D.R. for also putting to rest the rumour that white men can't dance!! Thanks to everyone who came out and hung out and sung out... we love ya!! August 2010: Quiet month for all things Remedy but for the usual gigs at The Avoca, The Espy and RobinHood. Great to catch Tina and Terry and a handful of others out and about. Looking forward to September's gigs, we'll be getting back into Wedding Season. Come and say hi now the weathers getting nicer!! July 2010: July was a relatively quiet month but we kicked things off with a bang with Peter and Natalie's wedding reception. Golding Wines at Lobethal played host to this excellent evening with over 200 guests going right off. Great couple and a terrific bunch of people made for a really enjoyable night. Gigs at The Bombay and The RobinHood were also really well recieved, great to get back to The Bombay after such a long break. We finished the month off with a gig at Ayres House for The SA Porsche Club, Christmas in July Show. Great to catch up with Sharyn and all the crew again... looking forward to seeing you all again in January!! We're back at The Avoca as well as The Espy this month so brave the cold and come out!! June 2010: What an excellent month of gigs and catching up with people. Kicked things off with a cracking gig for Kevin and Val Weeks combined birthday celebration. It might have been frosty in Stirling but it was a very warm and cosy evening inside. Big thanks to Sarah McDonald for all the hard work in getting this one organised. A return to The Tonsley was received with a terrific response and gigs at The Avoca and RobinHood were also a chance to catch up with everyone. Great to see Chan, Ramiah, Alana and Deb among the thousands!! We're heading back to The Bombay this coming month for the first time in ages so it would be great to see you there!! May 2010: Well it's wintertime in Adelaide and despite the nights getting rather cool there are still good crowds out and about. Gigs were all great and we had good numbers at The Avoca and Robin Hood. Terrific to be a part of Tricia Disbury's 40th birthday party at The Caledonia, where we saw a few familiar faces. Also travelled up to the Killakanoon Winery as a part of the Clare Gourmet Wine Day. Besides enjoying the amazing food and wine and some other pretty cool music we bumped into a whole heap of old mates including Richard, Dan and Loren. Great to meet Tom and Tim as well as Shane and the boys from TripleScore. Good stuff!! April 2010: Hope you all had a pleasant Easter. We had the weekend off so it was nice to have a break. The next weekend though it was off to The Adelaide Oval to help celebrate the wedding of Angie and Greg. At least 250 guests attended the Pavillion room and it was an absolutely wild night. The dance floor was packed where we were treated to a spectacular display of line dancing and other funky moves by the grooms brothers...( we've heard it's all the rage in outback Queensland!!)...setting the bar at what we thought was an unbelievable height. Not so. The very next week it was Kasey and Scott's turn to bring something new to the reception table... and they did! Before people were even seated the entire Bridal party turned the place on it's ear with a perfectly choreographered dance routine that had the whole place going off! Another excellent evening with a quality group of people. The regular gigs at The Avoca, The Brompton and Espy went as planned. March 2010: It's not a wonder we call it Mad March here in Adelaide, there is so much going on on!! The Festival, The Fringe, The Clipsal 500, man, it's been crazy. But to our surprise people were still out and about at most of our gigs. The Avoca, The Brompton, The Espy all went off as always, great to see Kate, Aaron and Matty among the punters. A Big thankyou to Angela and Michael for inviting us to play at their wedding reception down in the beautiful McLaren Vale. What a special couple and excellent group of friends, we felt so welcomed and we really had a terrific time. Looking forward to another couple of weddings in April too. come on out and see us in the meantime, check our gig guide for all up and coming gigs. February 2010: The shortest month of the year saw us back at most of the usual haunts. The Avoca for one was a great turnout. People came from far and wide, in fact as far away as Indianapolis in the US of A!! Big shout out to Martine and Dionne, thanks for coming down to Oz just to see little ol' us, so good to catch up!! Also great to see a couple of blasts from the past... Annie and Josie!! Come again. And it wouldn't be a night at The Avoca without Matty, Marky Mark, Corey and Timbo, good on ya boys!! The Brompton also went off out the back with a very cool crowd including a group from the local gym... our local gym, that we're members to.... that reminds me, we probably should go again sometime soon!! Anyway, we rounded the month off with what can only be described as the loudest gig we do down south at The Espy! If you ever want to see the Remedy Juggernaut at full tilt then come on down and see us at The Espy. If it's something the locals love to do is get a few shandies in and dance like no ones watching... certainly lifts the spirits!! January 2010: Right, so it's officially next year, and we got things off to a bang with a rippin' gig at The Avoca. great to see Timbo cleaning tables and Corey running the show!! That was followed closely by Thuy and Heip's big day. Great to see a traditional Vietnamese reception, lots and lots of guests and even more lots of food!!! Thanks again guys for a wonderful night. Then it was young Colin's birthday bash and I tell ya when I get to 65 I hope my friends can party as hard as his did!! Great to see a few familiar faces including Steve, Martin and Bryon tearing up the dancefloor... sorry Steve, no George Michaels maaate! More great gigs at The Espy and The Robin Hood, then wrapping the month up with another belter at The Avoca. Great to catch up with Gavin, haven't seen him for 20 years, please come again!! And as always Matty, Paula, Daren, Carly, Tim "you little ripper" Timbo and a brief stop in by Marky Mark! December 2009: Well that's it for another year. Hope you all had a terrific Christmas and New Years!! Great to see everyone at The Robin Hood for our last gig of 2009. Big thanks to all of you who came out during the year, we really appreciate your time and effort. We've been busy over the break learning a whole bunch of new tunes and with another little project called The Crossing which we have put together there will be even more reason to check out what we're doing!! The Crossing is an all original project that will be out and about in the coming months, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime enjoy the holidays and we'll see you at some stage soon. November 2009: It's nearly the end of another year. Christmas is just around the corner and people just keep getting married!! We had a terrific time with Kirsten and Michael who came all the way over from Tasmania for their big day at Annie's Lane Winery in Watervale. The weather was perfect and it was a terrific setting. We also ventured down to Victor for Deanna and Nathan's reception. Apart from the rain it was also a wonderful day. Great to see Narrelle and Rob amongst the guests too. Great gigs at The Espy and The Avoca amongst others and that was November. October 2009: Another month of weddings and pubs and even a quiet little Christmas function. We kicked things off with a huge Wedding Reception at The Beach House for Kelli and Justin. A terrific couple and a terrific night, big thanks to AJ and all the crew at the Beach House. A big thanks to The Glenelg Council for the parking fine... (!!!) The next week we found ourselves up in the middle of a beautiful green valley between Burra and Clare on The Schell's Homestead for the Wedding Reception for their daughter Denika and Mathew. It was a terrific night, sky full of stars, a huge marquee, heaps of great food and wine and a whole bunch of really fine people getting amonst it. This gig went right off. Big thanks to The Schells and The Koch families for putting on such a rippin' do! Hope to catch up with you again when you're back in town. The very next week we headed north again to Pt. Pirie for another reception, this time for Tamara and Mark. Another terrific bunch of country folk, really great people. Nothing was too much trouble, big thanks to Bev and Steve at The Virtus Soccer Club. Before we could recover from that it was Sunday night and we were off to the Boho to do a little unplugged gig for the staff of The Avoca. Well by the time we got out of there we were completely spent. Big thanks as always to Timmy "The Gangster" Hatchard for everything, and a special mention to Corey for the vibe! Cheers. September 2009: It was a month of weddings and pub gigs... no surprises there. Great to be a part of The Blessing of The Fleet Ball in Pirie. Big thanks to Anthony and Dot for all your hard work. Wonder if a bit of that blessing rubbed off onto Remedy!!! Another country trip up to renmark saw us at Rachel and Blake's wedding. Perfect couple, brilliant location, even the motel had a comfy bed.... important to get plenty of sleep when you're on the road!! Add to that a handful of gigs at The Avoca, Cascades and The Espy and it was the end of the month again. August 2009: After a bit of a juggle with old gigs falling over and new ones popping up August had a little bit of everythingg. Craig and Abi's wedding at The Grand was a highlight, what a great night. Big thanks to a terrific couple, everything went without a hitch, hope you've had a great honeymoon, hope to catch you again sometime soon. We had another cracking night for the truly wonderful TCT group raising much needed funds for a new Ronald McDonald House. Big thanks to Jenny and Lisa and Russell for organising such a terrific night. We even were privileged to witness the very popular Adelaidian Chef Peter Jarmer showing us how to knock up an authentic Austrian Apple Strudel.... boy this dude knows what he's doing!! It tasted every bit as good as it looked. Great to be a part of this excellent fundraiser!! Winter is now officially over so no more excuses about staying in, switch off the plasma, get off facebook and come out. Friday nights at The Avoca and Espy are definitely worth a look!!
July 2009: Well July saw the coming and going of another handful of special occasions, starting with young Howard Norman's birthday extravaganza at The Red Ochre Restuarant. Now we all know it's usually the MC/best mate's job to make a speech and perhaps give the host a good old fashioned roasting, and he did, but that was quickly overshadowed by perhaps the worst/funniest Marilyn Monroe wannabe in the history of entertainment. Not sure what planet she was on but let's just say she certainly wasn't with us. Mmm... don't give up ya day job just yet!!! Even so it really was an excellent night, thanks again to Howard and his family, good people!! The next night we had the very great pleasure to play for our friends Lynn and Greg and their family for Lynn's birthday celebrations. What a fabulous group, the place was absolutely pumping, by the end we were all pretty buggered! Good food good people, All good!!! Chuck in gigs at The Ark, The Espy, The TTG Golf Club and Cascades and that was July!! Oh and a last minute extra, happy birthday CJ, bring on the belly dancer!!
June 2009: June was very quiet for us with only a few gigs, but what great gigs they were. Good to be back at Cascades, great to see Matty, Tara and Deb and The Brompton and The Avoca were as always fun gigs. Met some more very fine peoples including Caroline and Michael. Highlight of the month must go to Cathy and Locky. We hit the road and travelled over to Kangaroo Island for their Big Day. The ferry trip over was a bit rougher than Kerrie had hoped but we managed to get there in time and in good shape!! Stokes Bay is a beautiful part of the world and the view from The Stokes Bay Bar and Grill was as good as it gets. Good people and great food made for a terrific night. Big thanks again for asking us over!! Looking forward to a couple of Birthday parties this coming month and another handful of pub gigs. C'mon, brave the cold and join us at one of our gigs this month!!
May 2009: May was very quiet as Adelaidians started their social hibernation. Venues are feeling the pinch as the winter chill sets in, but we pushed on regardless. The Wharf and The Avoca were great gigs, Arkaba went off and The Brompton saw a good crowd of Remedy Faithfuls. It might be quiet out there but we're not exactly sitting idle either, there is something very cool in the wind, something in the Remedy camp that will be making a huge statement.....all will be revealed soon!!
Appologies Matty and to anyone else who may have driven to The Espy or Tapp Inn gigs last week, we only found out they were cancelled that weekend and didn't have time to post it online.... we'll make it up to you!!
April 2009: April signalled the end of the "Wedding Season" but not before we travelled to Pt. Pirie, Macclesfield and The Monarto Zoo, 3 of the best receptions we've been at all year. All very different but very lovely. Big thanks to Joby and Naomi, Damien and Kristy, Ben and Casey. Our usual gigs at The Wharf, The Avoca went really well and our gig at The Ark got blown out. Sorry to anyone who headed out that night to see us. Looking forward to another busy month. Don't let the cold weather scare you off, click off facebook and come out and see us face to face!!
March 2009: Well March was always going to be the most enjoyable month on the Remedy calendar. For starters we enjoyed a well earned break, no gigs for 4 weeks. We also managed to slip in a Hens night, a Bucks night, a Wedding and a Honeymoon on the Gold Coast... yep, on the 8th we went and became Mr. and Mrs. James. After playing at dozens and dozens of other peoples weddings it was time for our own. A HUGE thanks to everyone who attended and for all your best wishes! Great to see all the interstaters including Maxi and Mirium. Big thanks to Daren (DaFish) for all the beats, Karen and Wayne for the excellent photography, Dad for the ceremony, Kate and Mark for everything else and the best behaved kids in the whole world, Sam, Brad and Corey. Cheers guys!!
The honeymoon euphoria was short lived though and by the 27th we were back rockin out at The Ark. It was a bit of a jolt back into reality but hey it was all good. Followed the next day with an excellent wedding for Joel and Misty at The Oaks Plaza. What a wild crowd. Great to catch up with Jaya too! And to top it all off the Crows smashed The Pies!!
February 2009: Well Feb has come and gone and we've been flat out with more weddings and pub gigs. Half way through the month we headed up to Pt. Pirie for Amy and Leighs big day, great to see a few familiar faces, we're becoming a bit of a regular in Pirie. Followed up the very next week with a wonderful cocktail reception for Hayley and Ben at The Stamford Grand. Really big night with some of the guests toward the end of the night with their feet in the air... i think they thought they were "dancing on the ceiling"....very entertaining. Cheers!! All the usual regular gigs at The Ark, The Wharf, The Avoca, The Brompton all went really well. Great to see many of you out and about. There is also a bit of movement in the Remedy corner, sitting on some very exciting news, all will be revealled soon..... watch this space!!
January 2009: January was a busy month in more than one way. Playing wise we played 3 weddings and a 60th, a dozen gigs around town and our regular Thursdays at The Goody were greeted with many happy punters. Highlights included an excellent evening at Dan and Laurens wedding celebration at McLarens On The Lake. Great to see all the crew from The Rat and a special mention of the Grooms efforts to sing a ripping version of Chasing cars to his lovely bride. Even the band got misty, well the female part thereof!! We also had a huge night at Claire and Andrews big day/night at Peter Lehmanns in the Barossa. Andrew also got on the mic and bellowed his way through half the night!! Some very exhausting looking dance moves from Deano and a two foot lizard ( yep, a real one) sitting in the corner of the cellar all night waiting for us to finish made for a revelry like no other.
December 2008: Christmas has come and gone once again and we just want to say another great big thankyou to everyone who has had anything to do with Remedy in 2008. We have played so many great gigs, too many to even try and remember. A huge thank you to our families who have continued to support what we do and help us out with all sorts of stuff. xxx. December has been very busy with several weddings and corporate gigs along with the usual pub regulars. We had an excellent time at Cathy and Ian's wedding early in the month. One of the best weddings we have ever been apart of, a beautiful couple and wonderful guests. The Food at Citi Zen was something of a treat also. The last weekend of the month saw us at Bungaree Station out of Clare for Jo and Deb's big day, and believe me it was a big day. Looking forward to another big year kicking off with a New Years celebration at The Stamford Plaza, Cascades Cocktail Lounge starting at 9pm. Thanks again to everyone who has supported live music, we have continued to do what we love and we are so grateful. Merry Christmas and have a safe a prosperous New Year.
